Today’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Top Ten Most Recent Additions to My Book Collection; my most recent acquisitions have been on two occasions: Barnes and Noble’s 50% Off All Hardcovers sale at the end of December, and Christmas. Thus, I’m including the 12 that I got across those two events.
Here are the books I got at the Barnes and Noble 50% off hardcovers sale a week or two ago:
You Have a Match, by Emma Lord

I’d already read this around this time last year from the library, but loved it enough that I jumped at the chance to get a physical copy of it for such an inexpensive price.
When You Get the Chance, by Emma Lord

Emma Lord was one of my favorite new authors of 2021, so I was super excited to get her newest book, particularly since it’s Broadway-themed and I’m a massive theater kid.
A Rush of Wings, by Laura E. Weymouth

This is supposed to be a Six Swans retelling mixed with Scottish folklore and I’m really excited for it.
Where Dreams Descend, by Janella Angeles

This is about a magic competition and sounds right up my alley, so I’m definitely looking forward to it.
A Snake Falls to Earth, by Darcie Little Badger

I loved Elatsoe when I read it last year, so I’m excited to read this!
The Nobleman’s Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks, by Mackenzie Lee

I loved the first two books in the series, so I’m looking forward to this; hopefully it live sup to the first two.
Red Wolf, by Rachel Vincent

This sounds like such a unique Little Red Riding Hood retelling, and I’m very much here for it.
Here are the books I got for Christmas:
The Enchanted, by Rene Denfeld

My boyfriend gave this to me for Christmas; I’d never heard of it, but it sounds great and I’m really excited to read it.
War and Peace, by Leo Tolstoy (Clothbound Classic Edition)

I love War and Peace, so I’m so excited to have this gorgeous edition of it!
All Our Hidden Gifts, by Caroline O’Donoghue

I’m really looking forward to this book. It’s a mystery and has some tarot elements and I’m just excited for it!.
In the Heights: Finding Home, by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Quiara Alegría Hudes, and Jeremy McCarter

I love the In The Heights musical (and the movie to a lesser extent), so I’m excited to own this book! I don’t think it’s a read-straight-through sort of thing, but flipping through it should be fun.
Kindle Oasis
This isn’t quite a book itself, but I’m so excited about it! I love it so much; it is my pride and joy.

I haven’t read any of these yet, but a lot are on my TBR like These Hollow Vows and Where Dreams Descend. Hope you’ll enjoy all of these!
Gilded has been a popular choice this week. I hope you like it!

I dont’ usually shop at Barnes & Noble, but even I got excited about the 50% off sale. Alas, I didn’t see anything that was on my wishlist, so I’m glad you did! (I also don’t think I saw Emma Lord’s books, which is a bummer because those might have tempted me…)
The In The Heights book looks fun. I really love books about the making-of behind musicals I love (based on the 2 I’ve read so far, for Wicked and In The Heights), but this is the first one I’ve seen that tracks its development into a major movie, too. I’ve only seen the movie so far, but I’ll keep this in mind after I’m more familiar with the original version.
