Today’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Top Ten Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the First Half of 2022. My post about the Top Ten Books on my Winter 2021-2022 TBR covers my most anticipated January and February releases, so I’ll focus on March through June in this post.

Gallant, by V.E. Schwab (releases March 1, 2022)

V.E. Schwab is always a genius, but I’m especially excited for this book of hers. It’s about ghosts and demons and haunted manors and I’m overall very excited for it.

A Far Wilder Magic, by Allison Saft (releases March 8, 2022)

This is about an alchemist and sharpshooter who join forces in a competition centered around hunting a magical creature, and it sounds amazing.

Great or Nothing, by Joy McCullough, Caroline Tung Richmond, Tess Sharpe, and Jessica Spotswood (releases March 8, 2022)

I love Little Women so much, so I am absolutely down for a retelling set during World War II.

Sense and Second Degree Murder, by Tirzah Price (releases April 5, 2022)

This is the second book in a series of murder mysteries centered around Jane Austen novels. I love both of those things, so I’m obviously excited for this.

An Arrow to the Moon, by Emily X.R. Pan (releases April 12, 2022)

This is pitched as “Romeo and Juliet meets Chinese mythology,” which I am absolutely here for. I also loved the author’s other book, The Astonishing Color of After, so I’m very excited to see what she has in store for us this time.

Sofi and the Bone Song, by Adrienne Tooley (releases April 19, 2022)

This is a book that’s about magic and music and has a enemies-to-lovers wlw romance that I’m very hyped for.

Bravely, by Maggie Stiefvater (releases May 3, 2022)

This is by Maggie Stiefvater, who I adore, and it’s set several years after the end of the Pixar movie Brave, which i also love, so I’m very much looking forward to it.

Book of Night, by Holly Black (releases May 3, 2022)

At this point, anything by Holly Black is an auto-read for me. I love her and her worldbuilding and everything’s fantastic, so I expect nothing but good things from Book of Night, her first adult book. It’s about con artists and thieves and it sounds amazing.

The Dream Runners, by Shveta Thakrar (releases June 28, 2022)

I can’t tell too much about this book from the synopsis, but what I can glean sounds great.

The Song that Moves the Sun, by Anna Bright (releases June 28, 2022)

This book centers largely around cities that are ruled by the magic of astrological signs, and in turn regulate balance between worlds, so disruption in their magic causes chaos elsewhere, including Earth. It sounds very intriguing.
